The TusPark European Innovation Academy (TEIA) was launched last night at a special event bringing together leading members of industry, the Department of Business and Trade from the UK government, the London Stock Exchange Group, national tech and science funding body Innovate UK, the Indonesian Embassy, and representatives from the governments of Shenzhen, Qingdao as well as the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
The Director of the TEIA, Congcong Wang, stated in his speech: “As a key hub in TusPark global innovation network, TEIA will provide comprehensive support for China-Europe innovation collaboration. We are committed to addressing key challenges such as cultural differences, inefficiencies, and cross-border risks in the practical process, offering the best solutions for enterprises seeking international expansion.” He emphasised that TEIA is not only a platform for resource connection but also a catalyst for innovation synergy among member companies, fostering better collaboration and breakthroughs.
Dr Colin Tan, the Deputy Director, highlighted that the primary strength of TEIA is to facilitate deep collaboration between member companies, helping them expand global networks and build a sustainable Asian-Europe innovation ecosystem by sharing industry expertise. “We aim to enable more companies to access international markets efficiently, making it easier for European enterprises to enter China. Our objective is to enhance the innovation cooperation between Asia and Europe and to achieve sustainable development through it.” Colin said.
TEIA is an international initiative by TusPark to incubate and support its member companies on their journey to Asia. Its 17 founding members include Irwin Mitchell (one of the UK’s largest national law firms), the National Innovation Centre for Ageing, Codebase (Scotland’s leading incubator network funded by the Scottish Government), AON (the world’s leading insurance broker and risk management consultancy), Hawksford (a multi-national corporate services company), P4 (one of the UK’s largest precision medicine accelerators), and the Indonesian Embassy itself.
TEIA supports bilateral trade and is focused on strategic consultancy, education on business culture, as well as relationships and news on the ground in Asia. A key element of the group is the sharing of relationships and best practices with each other, growing members’ shared networks and learnings with new joiners of the group.
TEIA has a long-term vision anticipating the growth of Asia, and alongside the commercial ambitions of its members, seeks to facilitate trade and friendship between countries and cultures.
