On 8 June 2026, Tus-Holdings signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KUMPUL, one of Indonesia’s leading innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem enablers, at the Asia Summit 2026 during London Tech Week.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Tus-Holdings by Kevin Lin, Vice President of Tus-Holdings and President of TusPark UK. The signing was witnessed by Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of Digital Ecosystem at Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, known as Komdigi, reflecting the Indonesian Government’s strong support for the partnership.

Representatives from Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, the UK Department for Business and Trade, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, BBC Monitoring, the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce, and the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Science and Technology attended the Summit, alongside investors, policymakers and innovation ecosystem leaders.

Supporting the International Expansion of Indonesian Startups

Indonesia is home to one of Asia’s fastest-growing startup ecosystems, with more than 12,000 startups and a combined market value of approximately USD 50 billion. However, only around 5% have successfully expanded into international markets.

With a network of more than 120 coworking spaces, community organisations and ecosystem partners across at least 40 cities, KUMPUL works to bridge Indonesia’s geographical and economic development gaps. It works closely with government agencies on national programmes, including initiatives designed to support Indonesian entrepreneurs in expanding into global markets.

KUMPUL is also a strategic partner of the Ministry of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia and has supported national entrepreneurship initiatives, including BEKUP. It has also collaborated with Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs on initiatives supporting the country’s digital economy and startup ecosystem, while connecting Indonesian founders with international markets, investors and innovation networks.

Under the agreement, TusPark UK and KUMPUL will work together to support Indonesian startups seeking to enter the UK and European markets. The collaboration will focus on five key areas:

The collaboration will be delivered through the TusPark European Innovation Academy (TEIA), which brings together leading partners from investment, financial and legal services, major innovation platforms and government organisations. Its network includes HSBC Innovation Banking, Cancer Research Horizons, Aon and CodeBase, among others.

By combining Tus-Holdings’ global innovation network and cross-border technology commercialisation capabilities with KUMPUL’s extensive presence across Indonesia, the partnership aims to create a structured pathway for startups, investors and innovation organisations to access new markets and international opportunities.

Building on a Long-Term Relationship with Indonesia

Tus-Holdings and Indonesia have maintained a strong relationship over many years and continue to deepen their cooperation and exchanges.

In recent years, the Indonesian Ambassador to the United Kingdom has visited both TusPark Newcastle and TusPark Cambridge, strengthening engagement with Tus-Holdings’ innovation platforms in the UK.

With the support and coordination of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Beijing, a delegation from Indonesia’s National Resilience Institute, Lemhannas RI, also visited Tus-Holdings. These exchanges have further strengthened mutual understanding and cooperation in innovation-driven development, technology ecosystems and international collaboration.

Next Steps

A dedicated working group will be established in the coming months to develop the first cohort of Indonesian startups participating in the joint programme. Selected companies will receive coordinated market-entry support, UK landing-pad services, introductions to relevant partners and investors, and assistance in exploring international investment and commercial opportunities.

Congcong Wang, Director of the TEIA, and Colin Tan, Deputy Director of TEIA, emphasised:

“Indonesia is an important strategic partner within Tus-Holdings’ international innovation network and a key market for the continued development of our innovation partnerships across Asia. By drawing on our platforms and networks in both China and the UK, we look forward to deepening our collaboration with Komdigi, KUMPUL and partners across Indonesia’s wider innovation ecosystem.”

Tus-Holdings will continue to strengthen its engagement with Indonesia and support closer innovation collaboration between China and Indonesia, as well as between the UK and Indonesia, contributing to the development of a more connected and internationally collaborative innovation ecosystem.
